Autumn Outside and INSIDE

Autumn colors are in full swing at our house.
Not only have we been surrounded by the amazing leaf show,
but we have been filling the inside of our home with fall as well.

It started with our acorn men.

We made a leaf garland for to hang from our mantle.

We filled votive candle holders with punched out leaves.

We made these great leaf print wall hangings.

First, we tea stained 4 white squares of flannel. We let them soak for about 15 minutes.

We found some leaves from outdoors (maple and sassafras).
Then we taped them in the center of the squares. Using red, orange, and yellow tempera paints (watered down 50/50). We splatter painted around the leaves. We also wanted to be sure that we could see the leaf print, so we stippled around the leaf.

Next, we treated it like a quilt adding batting and material. Sewing the project together and adding a loop in the back to let it hang on our dow rods.

What fall projects have you been working on?

Wishing you homeschool blessings,
Bethany
